Short movie about NIX.CZ

Prague (Dec 1, 2011) Professional Association of Legal Entities NIX.CZ celebrated 15th Anniversary, this year. International conference and social evening were organized by the Association to celebrate this occasion at the end of November. Short movie about NIX.CZ was published at the conference for the first time.

The movie was created in order to bring NIX.CZ closer primarily to non-professional public. Another role of the movie was to make NIX.CZ more visible abroad in few mottos like: Strategic destination, Modern technology, Data traffic growth as well as growth in connected participants, Non-profit organization and Stability.

Short movie about Internet Supported by NIX.CZ Association

In 2008, the association of Euro-IX announced a contest for amateur as well as professional filmmakers. The aim of the project was to create a short film explaining the internal functioning of the Internet. The NIX.CZ Association participated in the financing of the project with the aim to contribute to the creation of material which would be easy to understand for standard users of the Internet. The project has now been completed and the film called “The Internet Revealed” can be freely distributed for non-commercial purposes.

The Internet is currently an inseparable part of public as well as private life, thus users are becoming increasingly interested in the issues related to the Internet. Movie describes the methods of creating and interconnecting networks and also deals with the role of Internet eXchange Points within the Internet world, explains the meaning of the word “peering” etc. It describes and summarizes the activities of IXPs, i.e. also of the NIX.CZ association. It has been developed for general public and can be used as an educational resource.
